I really like that.
"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907

OMG, what gorgeous stuff! Absolutely loved everything I saw/read.... except the weight! That is a seriously heavy car for the horsepower.

I talk in kilograms so I had to do the converstions, but my car with a busa is destined to be in the 450kg range which is about 990lbs. This beasty (admitedly with an uprated busa is in the 670kg to 730kg range (1400 to 1600 lbs).

That 'absorbs' a serious load of the available grunt.

That aside, damn thats pretty.

Anybody had any serious experience with the boxed control arms? Im very enthusiastic.... kinda ...sexy??? Man Im one sick fu%$..... 8)

The boxed arms are the latest thing but a bit of point of contention.     I've asked about the practice of using "pockets" in them for shock mounts and get a variety of answers as to the wisdom of that.  What's your opinion?

I'm really unsure and as I have no experience with them it will be all conjecture... but....

Firstly, why are they needed (same question is applied to all innovations)...? are the existing units or methodology inadequate?

In most cases no, tubular arms are very satisfactory and can be made reasonably light weight for a given strength ratio (if that makes sense). I can see how a boxed arm will supply much better stiffness and strength in some areas, but at a cost (complexity and labour).

Do tubular arms supply the necessary "Bling" value?

Oh definitely not.... and here I think we can find an answer for MOST applications. Lets face it we all like/love bling! (in buggy terms though, bling isn't always gold chains, damn nice set of alloy wheels...mmmmmm).

For mine I'm thinking that a hybrid tubular/boxed unit may well be the best option. Lets not forget one thing...making boxed arms is extremely labour intensive in comparison to tubular arms.

If its purely function under "normal" operating conditions you are after...tubular.... but we roll to the beat of a different drum.. and some extreme applications may well NEED boxed arms...

So I say...bring em on!

Nice workmanship, those boxed A-arms are alittle over kill for the application, but none
the less , very nicely done.  Boxed a-arms originated back in the early Formula car days
when extreme strength and light weight was needed. Some of the early Lola's had boxed
a-arms made from .030 sheetmetal.

Talk about racing a tin can! :D Isn't that about the time unibody cars came about?
