I like the idea less chatter, but how would you align the rear with out lengthening or shortening wheel base?
You lost me.

that's it! I'd position it where it would carry on through to the rear heim. I'm also thinking of doing away with the heims at the wheel end pivots and using full width flanged delrin bushings like on the front a arms of this car..

what I mean is if you go bushings on the wheel side and heims on the chassis how would you set toe? if you went bushings on the chassis and heims on the wheel it would still be easy to set toe and you would still be reducing heim chatter.

Hmmmm, gotta think about this a bit more.I'd like to rid it of heims altogether. What do you think about making the hub plate removable/shimable?

it's funny you meantion that, my father and I have been toying around with the idea of shims like on the front arms of an imca modified but a little stronger.

I think I have an idea for the bolt on tabs to just that at the wheel, as a matter of fact I think I have a few out in the shop I will have to go look.

Well maybe but I was thinking more along the lines of a plate just like you have attached to the arms with bushings with another plate that carries the wheel stub/bearing assembly bolted to it perhaps in a piloted bore that would allow shimming the wheel stub/bearing assenbly.  The same way a soild axle 4wd front is aligned. Unbolt the hub snout and use round tapered shims.

Many years ago I was in trade school alignment class and swore that I'd never again align a car with eccentric adjusters without wrench flats ever again. There was some Ford crap at the time the had those type adjusters and they SUCKED to work on.

just an idea but I don't know if it would be strong enough on a hard landing.

I'd rather have a solid connection like a 4wd front snout. It's piloted in the hub plate and once set it'll take a shitload of abuse without failure.6 3/8ths bolts and it might as well be welded in place.
