My 4th of july.
« on: July 07, 2010, 07:49:29 AM »
I went to the Palmyra 4th of July fireworks show and this is what I got.   This video is taken in the stands.  Me and my girlfriend were on the other side of the fireworks about 200 feet away with nothing between us and the launching tubes.  It was cool seeing the shells launch close up and feeling the thump from the lift charges. Too bad it did not go as planned.

Where the reporter is on scene in this video. That's where I was standing pretty much.

That was on heck of a finale!  Almost makes you motion sick to watch on the front end though.

"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."

My neighbors back home are the largest fireworks distributors in the Midwest.  They are called Flashing Thunder Fireworks Display of Mitchell, IA.  I worked for them most of my childhood.  Yes,  I said childhood.  I have been all over the Midwest shooting fireworks, and I've seen guns blow up due to shells malfunctioning.  However, NO ONE got hurt because we were never that close to our spectators, and the racks that we constructed, IF they could have fallen over, WOULD NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!  fall the direction of the crowd.

That crew that set up the show were a bunch of HACKS, and shouldn't be allowed to perform another firework show period.  Pure stupidity of their behalf   nono.

I've been to  5 PGI, "Pyrotechnics Guild International" events in the last 13 years and never have I seen anything close to that.  These PGI shows are some of the biggest displays of fireworks on planet earth.  Difference being, everyone shooting fireworks has to be trained and certified, aka...  PROFESSIONALS!

Sorry for my ranting, it's just this pisses me off to no end, because it's shit like this can be avoided.
See you all duneside.😎🤙
