New to buggies have some newbie questions on buggy frames

I am gathering vw parts with the intention of building something fun to beat up in the bush and reservoir beds, I was originally drawn to something like the berrien frames, but I'm wondering if anyone else makes frames more suited to all terrain travel, while still allowing easy use of vw power train / axles?

Loads of them out there for the VW based stuff. Berrian (pretty sure I missspelled that) is a chassis. A lot are sold in a nock down kit. You weld it your self. I think DS is going to have one with IFS that would work but don't know your buget. I think it is a 4 seater. I use 4 seater in that it has room for kids in the back, adults not so much.

dunebound is right I do have a 2+2 seater chassis or a 4 seat I am going to sell here soon. the 4 seater is for two adults in the front and 2 smaller people in the rear. I am going to make a couple of changes to the chassis to strengthen it up over barriens design and could move the cage forward to buy 4" more leg room for the rear so adults could sit back there as well. the front end will be my conversion kit, a-arm 18"-24" wheel travel. the chassis has one of barriens custom torsion housings welded in so you would need to buy a set of 3x3's , 4x5's , or what ever you are looking for as far as travel to bolt onto the rear. I will be selling the chassis with a stock 002 transaxle and a 3800 v-6 engine for $3900. the chassis has seat mounts in it as wall as the empi t handle shifter and shifter shaft and full diamond plate skid pan. if that's something your interested in pm me.

When ds gets done reworking that frame and installs his front end conversion kit, it will make someone a damn nice car !

Being stock it will until you shock load the transaxle once!

that trans axle will take it once you build it! a stock 091 or 094 wouldn't hold up to that motor.
