You also should use a ferrule for the bolt to pass through so you can properly lock the wing down . The bottom hole in the wing should not let the ferrule pass through .

So you can tighten bolt and not crush the wing while clamping both the top and bottom surfaces. Ferrules should always be used on a thin section hollow stock. Call it a crush tube if you wish. I usually weld them in place. They can be loose if done as I suggested though.

Thanks for accepting the refund Dave, it was starting to get to me that one of my customers wasn't happy, I must say it's something I don't like to hear. Don't worry about sending any of the parts back.  I hope to see more of your build as it progresses, good luck and have a good day mate!

You're welcome! I could tell it was effecting ya, but thank you I do appreciate it! However I did say not to worry I was happy to leave it there! But it certainly was a nice gesture on your behalf!  ;)

Is the wing primarily for asthetics or is it actually going to affect the handling? Looks good, just wondering how functional it is.

Sorry for the slow response Komelika been a busy, purely aesthetics mate I seen a pic of one or two over here in OZ and thought it looked cool so I got one and whacked it on!

Reidy,

Actually if the wing is somewhat rigid, I think you'll will be surprised at how much down force that thing will generate.

Think about driving down the highway at speed and sticking your hand out the window.  You can see how much force is created from a small surface such as your hand.  Now look at the surface area of that double wing spoiler and you can get an idea of how much force it's capable of.  Then you factor into the equation that air is a fluid, and the amount of force generated is exponentially greater at increased speeds.

I used to race 1/8 scale R/C buggies all over the nation, and I can tell you that with out that little wing you're screwed, so taking that knowledge to a larger scale, I think that having a wing on your buggy is a fookin great idea!  Especially since these Cuda's are only rear wheel drive.  Any help you can get keeping the nose up is good.  If i had to choose between landing on the nose or the rear end, I'll take the rear end any day. ;)

Like I said before, as long as it's fairly rigid, it should work great!  While in the air it should help keep the nose up and it will help a tiny bit to keep your buggy from leaning left or right on the big jumps.  Compile that with the "Fookin COOL Factor"  and I like it ;D
See you all duneside.😎🤙

Good points Grimm. We see wind tunnel tests and such all the time and seem to forget about things like RC cars that are real world "wind tunnel " results.

Yeah I suppose ya right, I didn't really think of it that way, I mean I knew it would generate some down force but I mainly thought it looked kick ass so I put it on! Thanks I think it looks pretty cool too! ;D

Definitely has a "trick" factor! If they are still available in 15 years when I get to that point then I'll have to look into it!

By the time I get there ground based "cars" might be a thing of the past and all cars will have wings. LOL
