it would be interesting to know if the inside of the frame was rusted or how many time that frame had been cut and welded back together or if at all and just not strong enough for the nasty landing.

That makes my legs hurt.  It looks like very small tubing used in the triangulation/ cross bracing.

Say, not to get all grammarly on you, but I do like semantics more than Zumba!  So:

they are both fine just broken legs

See, in my world, "broken legs" does not equal fine.  I understand they are not dead, or paralyzed, or whatnot.  But, again, "broken legs" does not really work out to be "fine" in my world.

Maybe I have just not been kicked hard enough in the nuts to understand that "broken legs" are "fine?"   kick

;D ;) rofl  your right, they are alive but have broken legs. hobbled is better than dead if they can heal and walk again but again i couldn't find the article to what the turn out really was. only heard statements of what it said.

Something went really wrong there. It’s crazy that the shocks in single shear and the beam stayed on the car. Honestly this is a very typical frame setup for an older beam car. It has bracing where it should be. We can clearly see weakness now in hindsight and can say where more bracing should have been. I wonder if the tube was just too thin

I'm pretty sure that's a Chenoweth 4LWD too. Not just some home build gone wrong

i have personally converted several barrien buggy frames to a arms. all but 1 were low side frames but all were .095 and .083 wall erw. something else is did it rust from the inside out and weaken it. funny comment was made on fb post and that was......this is what happens when people convert beam rails to a arms as they weaken the structure as it was designed.       i was extremely polite when i replied but i about fell out of my chair laughing when i read that  LMAO    the bent rail pictured is just a bad deal. prob combination of 4 diff issues or more but def was strong enough for that landing.  punkur67 is right.........easy enough to say that now but may have been easy to say before if one had saw it in person but we will never know.
