Title: why would you have cardboard inside your propshaft ?

yes you read it right :o
unless its common practice and l have missed it for the last 35 years l was suprised to find a cardboard tube stuffed up the inside of the justy propshaft ( driveshaft ?)
l cut it half to shorten it and found this up the middle

anyone know what you might want to have a cardboard tube inside a metal tube ?

the pictures that l have uploaded to photo bucket have the file name Scxxthorpe ,  would seem the swear filter has all seeing eyes and has picked up a section of the word it dosent like, l have tried re namingthem but it dosent seem to make any difference ??

well they both sound likerly answers,  l have never see it before, perhaps its got something to do with the poor balance of the 3 cylinder engine,
l was hopeing it was a treasure map when l pulled it out   ;D

Bing go. Master hit the nail on the head.  People did not like the ping dinging noises from small pebbles hitting the shaft while driving.
