Oct 12 - 18 has 6 sites still open. Oct 19 - 25 has 9 sites open. Oct 26 - 11/1 still has 17 sites open. Mike was wanting the last week in Oct. Never sure what the weather will be though. Any thoughts?

Better than loading up and leaving foe sure even if some of the repairs are a bit wonky. They do seem like they pretty much know their stuff. This is perfect, I need a T shirt made with it. 15
Motor and Drivetrain / Re: Well,EFF ME!! SB2.2 #2« Last post by fabr on January 17, 2025, 07:08:35 PM »Well,so far I think it has been worth the wait. Other than an off idle/tip in stumble that was needing attention with the 360 as well,it runs just fine. I did several 3rd gear brakes locked stalls to load the rings
I changed nothing in the efi ecu other than the cubic inch from 360 to 427.I'll do some logs and get that stumble gone. Need to get the new body paint done and I think I'm ready for a LS test day. WooHoo!!! 16

Personally I thought the other motor ran great, once you got the popping head gasket issue solved. Riding in your rail it didn't feel like it ever struggled....at LS. Obviously I don't truly know and st a is a tru test. One thing is for sure, between the lower gearing and the larger engine you'll be happy.

SB2.2 #2« Last post by fabr on January 16, 2025, 06:02:35 PM »OK,the engine is in the buggy finally. It had been hanging out on the engine stand for many months complete and ready to go while I played with the 360SB2.2 . That 360 was doing so well I was in no hurry but the time had come for it to take a well deserved vacation. I'll wait till the 427 proves itself reliable before I freshen up the 360. ANYWAY,the 427 turned over about 2 times and fired right up and idled. Shut it down till tomorrow when it is supposed to be 60ish degrees . I'll fire it ,warm it and drive out the door and do several power stalls against the converter with brakes locked to seat the rings. Honestly, the rings must be sealing really well already. With plugs in ,rotating it by hand on the stand I heard no air escaping past rings into pan. It was very hard to do with plugs in. Actually scared me since it had been quite a while since rotating it and thought WTF is binding? Pulled plugs and all was well. The guys at Patterson talked me into using the .9mm/.035" rings . Thinnest I had ever used before was .043". The things look like oil rails. I was skeptical, still am, but they swore I would get good ring life as they had some roundy round guys using and getting excellent life and yet are easy on the cylinder walls. Hopefully,I can get a couple years at least before they start going away. They said I should easily get that. The thing sounds healthy for the minute it ran. Like a BIG dog compared to the 360 little dog. Much deeper growl.

Yes, they do provide a service enabling people to finish their trips. Wonky is one polite description Deepbusch69, this made me think of you.... 19

As this is the first year of speed , I know they have had some growing pains with blown motors and gear boxes and apperantly turbo exh flanges. They seem to be making them right though and still a top tier machine imo What I like about those videos are the number of bandaid repairs which screams cash cow some of the work is all bolt on parts ...on the sxs's. Shocking how many are either not prepared or uncapped of the repair work on the sxs's |
