Exhaust
« on: November 04, 2008, 03:40:20 PM »
I am planning on running dual exhaust on gsxr 600. I have two stainless Supertrapps off of a Ducati 929. What i was thinking is shortening them up by 3-5 inches (more bottom end). What do you guys think?

run 4 to 2 and 2 to 1, duals will kill the torque on that motor, save the 2nd trapp for another project..

Why not do a really killer custom can or something, you can fab it all up and get it chromed or something maybe oval tube or something really different.

I was thinking HPC coating like they use on drag car headers.(header, silencer and pipe). Plus that coating looks killer. I could build shit cheaper than i do but when it comes to re-sale the bling always seems to help if done right.  ;D

Go with the HPC. I've run headers coated inside and out for years and they still look like new.

That's what i thought. Plus I like the fact that the pipes cool down so quick.

They don't get nearly as hot and cool very quickly.Coat the inside also to keep the header from rusting to death from the inside.

That's the plan. I've heard that it also helps to speed up the exhaust flow by trapping more of the heat inside and makes a little more power. Don't know if it's true or not.

That's the story anyway.

I like to use gsxr because they have a flange on the back side with 4 bolts that you can add your exhaust pipe to without trying to match the motorcycle head pipe, and it is easy to cut down.

Hey 455bird, a few questions. 1 Are those the Sand Viper paddles And do you like them? (I have a new set for mine in the garage). 2 Is the vent on the driver side for the radiator? ( I was thinking about doing that but was unsure if air flow would be good enough). 3 Not a question but a compliment. That buggy is badassssss looking. ;D
