I like air bags. Hell I better I am surrounded by them
With my new trailer I am looking at air bags for my 3/4 ton.
I didn't either for many years.I pulled with a 1/2 ton suburban for much of the time a 14K#'s trailer.
I cringe every time I see one of those WD hitches go through a big dip, or up an inclined drive. Anyone ever broke the bars or bent anything on one?I guess they are no worse than some old grandpa driving a 1/2 ton with a 40' 5th wheel with a standup master bedroom over the hitch, barely clearing the 13'6" overpasses.
I am looking at getting one of those things that make a bumper pull, pull similar to a fifth wheel. There is the cam type one that attaches to the trailer and the curved track one that stays with the truck. I was looking at the second one since I have multiple trailers. I think the CAM one might not drift in as bad in corners though. I think the trailer moves side to side during in the middle, but as the angle increase, it moves to the side less.It would be cool to setup the receiver with a motor and lead screw to pull the hitch in while on the expressway then shove it out when turning into a narrow drive way.
