I read that the 4:86 is stronger in the Subi. I may try building my car with the stock tranny. But this is not really an educated decision, just based on things I read.

stickflipper.....was that an n/a 2.5 you ran?

brianN......i have read that the suby sti stock 6 speed trans is good to 600 hp. not sure which one you have but i bet the 4.86 r&p would be deep enough. that all depends on the gear ratio in the stacks and your tire dia.

DS and I were talking about the Subi trans, and how it could be a much cheaper reliable trans to use a few months back.  Few cars spin just the one tire in sand, turning brakes would help that LOL.  Someone was doing one, maybe that was you, Brian?  But we had it into the $2500 range I thought, but slept since then.

I have a 2003 mt5 and a 2007 Impreza 2.5i mt5. And to the previous question, I have never used these before.
