24" is great to weld while seated. Personally I'd prefer it.

Ditto....  My general workbench is about 38", but it's always covered with tools cuz I prefer working off my saw horses. ;D  Have ya seen any of my project pix?  Everything is on the saw horses.  If somebody was working on flat stuff only, go higher, but for most things 24" is a good height.

I'm taking it all in. I like 24" for the build. I want to get me a roll around stool anyway and it keeps me off the floor. I've been working off saw horses too. Nice, but they are the folding horses and can be a PITA. My garage floor is uneven so I like the idea of making it adjusteable. I'll build it 24" and when I'm done with the project I can make a base and build it taller. I'll go get the material next week and update as I progress.
