I recall reading that the fancy stuff can help with turning while the straight cut pushes straight better. This is by memory though.

The straights he posted pics of will just dig a big hole quickly. The paddles are too stiff.

If you find a good deal then ok, but the V design should pull sand under tire helping with flotation, same as flipping your mudd tire side to side.  Just bring the $200 and give as a tip to those who pull you out.  (they will do this for free just to roost you with sand)  Peeps you don't know, everyone quite friendly.  Don't forget goggles.
