Mine are like the ones posted first and  have not failed . Had them for 3-4 years. I wouldn't trust them for a heavy car tho.

The ones I bought were ,of course, made in China. FWIW,I'll not buy any Chinese junk unless I see it first. At least that way I can make a judgement call to see if I want to risk my coin on it. IF there was an American made unit of the same design the damn thing would cost 3-4 times as much and be no better. BUT,that's the price we pay to get higher wages here. The questions are these though----#1,are YOU willing to pay more for the same quality just so it doesn't come from China? #2 Are YOU willing to push for tarriffs high enough to keep Chinese junk where it belongs?

Yes. Being one of a few out of many will hardly make a dent though.

#2 Are YOU willing to push for tarriffs high enough to keep Chinese junk where it belongs?

This is where the real answer lies. It is more than higher wages, it is higher emission and safety standards. If tariffs were ramped up slowly, it would not cause a disruption and give US companies time to ramp up as they are able to compete. I'm sure the loan agreements the politician's made say China will raise the interest rate if we put tariffs on things though. Nothing like having our government policy dictated by foreign entities.

The wages are the biggest slice of the pie.

We are overpaid compared to our productivity.I see it all day every day with the employees that come here to buy stuff. They eff off,eff off,eff off,eff off, and continue to eff off for 30 minutes to an hour coming in here to get a couple of boards. That is how Americans are now.  It's called lack of a work ethic.   Short story. I have an employee that last Tuesday WALKED TO WORK. 3 MILES in -15 degree blizzard, drifts 2'+ tall. He left his house at 4:00 in the morning so he would be on time at 7:30. THAT'S WORK ETHIC!!!!! I would not have expected him to have done so and told him so. Hell,I'd have paid him for the day anyway. I went out and bought him a pair of insulated boots,I bought him 2 gallons of antifreeze, gave him ride home and to work the next morning. I bought him a tire for his truck, drove 45 miles roundtrip to have it mounted Saturday morning. I won't accept a penny for any of it. WHY????? Because he had a work ethic that he lives by.That man is about as smart as a gnat but he does have HEART! On the other hand I have another employee that has a 4WD truck and somehow just couldn't make it here. Couldn't make it all of last week and calls in this morning also. Guess what,he's fired. Effing lazy SOB.
