No I just changed the route, and came up with 1865, but the second option does allow me the chance to stop by a really good bar, assuming it is still there, in Lawrence Kansas.  Gotta love the desperate KU coeds.

Go walkabout trojan!  You'll make it in about 6 months! LOL! I don't want to rain on anybodies parade but why not try a center of the US thing?  LS,Ok around end of september. Spec ,if that'd work for you I'll pay your gas down, chauffer your ass all over the dunes and listen to your BS(hehehehe) if you do the cooking for the event. Centrally located in the US might make it more "attendable" and there's some great duning and trail riding for all depending on personal riding preferences. You will need paddles tho!

Oh and FWIW I think I'd be more than willing to start donate 50 bux to the food fund.Anybody that makes a donation to DTS will get a free logo T shirt for the event.Donation ,say a minimum of 20 bux,  need be made 45 days before and you don't get the effin T if you don't show up! LOL!!!Best plan IMO would be for the event to be on a Monday and Tuesday and/or Wednesday.. Small crowd and plenty of parking during week.

Is it just trail riding or dunes? We would just be bringing our quads.
Title: Re: DOG DAY'S
Post by: SPEC on January 07, 2009, 05:33:18 AM
For LS. or here?
LS. is mosly dunes with some trails, And you need paddles...
Here prolly just quads for woods riding...Bigger buggies prolly wouldn't fit on alot of the trails I frequent...Here wouldn't be till summer...I think Fabr is planning late spring in LS.

Spec,

Your trails look perfect for the KX500....  How big are the mosquito's again??  Are there any hills to climb?  We have some trail area's around here I used to frequent, when I wasn't allergic to dust and mud!  There is an old rock quarry at Milford lake that has a large riding area, and leads right down to the beach.  Take the bikes and jet ski's.  That place can go from sloppy mud in the morning to solid dust in the afternoon.  I love sand!

I hate mud with a passion myself, And im heading to mud country, WTF am i thinking... ;D

Engineer do they let buggys in at Milford?
Title: Re: DOG DAY'S
Post by: Engineer on February 05, 2009, 05:13:05 PM
I honestly haven't drove in for several years, but I take the boat to the beach to meet people there.  The trails are generally ATV and cycle size.  I have seen some buggy's there, but it would be very limited acces to the main trails.  The main draw there is woods trails and hill climbs.

To exactly answer your question, I don't know.  They really don't monitor access, they don't charge admission that I know of.  I believe they drove some posts to keep trucks out of certain areas, which would limit buggy access as well.  It would be best to call before driving, but I can also say that if all you were taking was a buggy it would get old pretty fast.

That about what I thought, not real buggy freindly. Thanks
