series will cool more efficiently but there will be more back pressure possibly inhibiting the systems ability to move the water.

If either of the two small rads cannot flow enough water, then they would need to be run in parallel. One sign is if the fittings are smaller than those on the engine. If vertical tubes, try to connect them both with inlet at the top.

Doesn't really matter if one or two or three. Proper temperature drop of the coolant is all thats required.

You can cool to much too. This is not as bad as overheating but a engine running to cool for long periods is not good for power or long engine life usually.
Your mission isn't to dive feet first into hell, but to make sure its crowded when you get there.

So long as the pump is capable of flowing the necessary volume of water per minute it doesn't matter the configuration as nutz says.
