Again time and money could have been saved!   FWIW ,there are many "experts" on the net. Many can't find their shoelaces. ;D

The reason that other site is such a joke is because the EVIL 6 with their LOOSE CANNONAre no longer there to call out the bullshitters and keep the place honest any more... I saw that thread...If I gave a shit about that site I would have said something...I guess I should have :-\

well i made sure not to scratch the shocks, and i saved the reciept.. so ill take them back.. sucks, because i was hoping they were gonna provide a nice smooth ride.

ok so i told the guy that i got the same shocks as him and they are rock hard and what not.. heres his reply.

hey Matt: First you have to put them on individual air lines or it works like a backwards roll bar and upset the vehicle when you go into a corner. I also got rid of the tiny air lines and installed 3/8" id fuel lines to get the volume in and out much quicker and efficiently. The lines are connected to tanks made of muffler pipe and appropiate plumbing fittings and a schrader valve on the other end. I found for the weight of my vehicle (500lbs. in rear) that 85 lbs. of presure is just about perfect, any less and the frame bottoms out on landings any more and you will beat yourself to death. The external tanks give the shocks much more volume which allow them to travel and respond faster (because they are air springs not mechanical springs they will never recover as fast as coilovers) but on long runs you will appreciate that because of a much superior ride quality. When I ride with the gang I look for the roughest terain just to show them how much more it can take than even the most expensive suspension on a atv. ( and I have some money tied up in my 4wheelers.) At 85 lbs. they have about 8" of travel. I hope this helps you Pete.

Voodoo I wish I had know you were gonna try this as I could have showed you where to get Gabriels Hi-Jackers for $40.00 for two shipped to your door. (not as easy to return though but still new shocks)

Post up a pick of how they are setup.

I was the one who told him he needed the bigger air reservoirs. I discovered this with my airbag expierments on suspensions and we have also applied this to a truck a frined of mine drives with good results with the same pressure but increased volume.

Lets see a pic of how yours is. Bill

im just not sure if i should fully weld the mounts i made, or if i should cut them off..  im just worried that the coil over shocks i have now are gonna be really bouncy and not stiff enough.

i could have my machinest make some plates to mount a spring on the air shock. are there such things as non gas charged air shocks? just all air?

Master is going to say it's a waste of time.  Which is true if you expect top notch performance. But it's gotta be better than nothing and the choice is up to you.  IMO if you can make them tolerable, I would run them, and in the mean time be saving up for something better.  Or you could return them and spend the money now.  You can't buy a Ferrari on a hoop-d budget.

They may help IF they happen to be strong in the area the shocks you have are weak.  Now does it feel to bounce on it with btoh shocks on it but only a little air pressure?

my coilovers just seemed like they were pretty bouncy, i didnt realize the air shocks were gonna be so damn stiff and almost dead on rebound..  ill keep the receipt, and when i eventually get around to driving the thing, the real test will surface.  jumping on the back proves nothing to a driving test.
