I do not believe so. Yo may only need them to do diagnostic checks but on a 98 I do not think so.

so what about a fuel pump im thinking it will have to have one.the bike runs out of gas at about 135 mph.
 the story on the bike is some one that was building project bike and in the mean wile got hit on his other bike.so he said he wasent ever going to ride again.when the gxsr was bought it was in 4 boxes and put together by someone that has never worked on a bike.
 but it runs great up to 135

it came with carbs, fi is best
