Yeah I know, self polishing where the feet ride and self dulling everywhere else.. I was thinking whether aluminim or PC steel I'd use some rubber strips/mat in the foot area.

Maybe even some velcroed indoor/outdoor carpet in the foot area.

How effin often you gonna be on the ground looking up anyway?

Ya, seems how you stick to the ground, no one will see the bottom anyhow... IMO steel looks cheap and cheesy, the powder will get scratched eventually and then you got the all mighty rust..

Drag that belly and the steel will look nicely polished. ;D I don't know what I'm going to use.I like the PC pan on the inside myself.  The only reason I'm even considering it is because the rear portion behind the seats will be steel for sure as a structural component.

Think tank man! LOL!  There would be plenty of cutouts. The weight diff would be minimal.

One of my cars had a welded in steel pan. Builder claimed it gave the chassis more rigidity. I claim it made the damned thing hard to work on at times. I eventually used the hole saw to access the seat mount bolts.

Had 3mm ali ever since with tabs and loctited bolts. Had to replace it fairly regularly (at least each season) but as long as you have adequate cross bars its all ok.

Used a small removable floor with the pedals attached so the whole thing could come out as a unit. Nice to work on and this section was where most of the footwear occured. It was also checkerplate to allow your heels some grip and therefore a little support when bouncing around.
