Post by: fabr on October 15, 2018, 08:04:01 PM
I ran across this article  http://fitzvideo.com/skysurfing2/2013/10/27/a-flight-to-little-sahara-waynoka-oklahoma-by-brian-fitzgerald/  . It had some cool aerial pics. Might want to check it out. Here are a few. Enjoy.

It can be a real cluster fxxk. That's why I usually go when I can have the place pretty much to myself. No big events or holidays usually.

Good point on the non directional nature of the dunes.
Still gonna send it....with spotters.
Those bowls!!!  Iv'e never ridden in a bowl.  The only time I tried was this past February when I was at Pismo Beach and rented THE slowest Polaris RZR 900.  I wasn't complaining as I was on the sand in February. LOL

Seems that we are out there during the week, it will be relatively slow in regards to dune traffic?

The trails are like a bowl of spaghetti, and a night run thru them is my fav.  DS, Enemy and I set some record speeds, cause you can see the lights of oncom ing traffic at night.  Sometimes people cross fence to the outta bounds.  Real easy ti get turned all around.  I have no idea where at, we just figure it out after a long run.  Fill up w fuel!!

def need an extra full tank of fuel! not because we push the limits.......its because we get lost and spend hrs trying to find the gate  LMAO LMAO

HAA!!  YES, I can see the increased speed during the night runs.  Same thing for riding the snow scooters at night, you can see when there is oncoming traffic.  If I take it easy, the sand flea does pretty good on fuel.  ALSO, Doug Heim has a kick ass GPS unit that should keep us on track-ish.

In dunes Fabr is 100% correct you will find a dune w 10’ drop face that wasn’t there during day or you are off on ya dune count as to where u are.

I have seen more breakage at night than any other time, but it’s always a good story later when drinking beer around the fire
