Good buy or not?
« on: January 02, 2011, 12:25:41 PM »
Found this buggy for sale, approximately $3000.00. http://www.cars.com.na/car/sandrail-2004

Apparently it was built for the Mad Max movie they intended to shoot here in Namibia a few years back. It has a Nissan V6 engine in with an automatic gearbox, don't know which brand of shocks it is. Going to have a look at it tomorrow.

What do you reckon? Should I go for it?

Depends on what needed to complete.  Looks mostly there, and running.  If there is any documents on the movie thing, bonus.  But I like Mad Max movies. ;D

Might be well worth 3K. Hard to tell much from pics though.

parts alone would bring that.  if it runs, good value.

These will not show up in any of the Madd Max movies.
I recently sold some parts to the company hired by the producers to build some sand cars and there using R1 motors on there buggies

I also think the parts alone will be $3000, I paid almost double that amount for my piranha a couple of years ago. I reckon with some work it can turn into quite a nice buggy.

The Mad Max movie was never filmed here at the end. I think there were some funding problems.
