DTS Gatherings Car2Car Communications

Just a suggestion but it would be really nice if we all had car to car radios. It makes it a LOT more fun and safer as well. Fast and I have them as does Jerry C.. Seriously consider it guys.

i have and agree but not in the cards for now, hell i cracked an injector cup in my truck so there goes more money   :'( :'( ??? ;)

well what i have done wouldn't cause a cracked cup. what i have done to mine has only been to lower egts naturally. i have only made mild mods and i watch my egt gauge closely  i am running cooler than stock at higher boost levels w/o water meth on stock inner cooler and turbo is even stock except the compr wheel is a wwII billet. not a high performance jump just lighter for lower rpm and designed to keep it from over spinning. i have never towed over 80 hp tow mode either because i have just never had too. although a year ago i got some bad fuel somehwere and have never figured out where but it was blue diesel! i pulled the fuel filter and it was smurf blue no kidding on the color. i started checking cause the truck was running about 25* hotter on water temps and small loss of power and  2 or 3 lbs less boost. and i was 5 hrs from home with my th'er !

i should say the cracked cups are not a common problem on the 7.3 litre but not rare either. most common to sled pullers and racers. the 6.0 ltre the cracked cup was more common but nothing uncommon about parts failure on the 6 blow

Car to car is 100% the way to go.  Best money spent for being safe, etc.

So I see  2 way radio kits, 5w 2-3 mile range for $200ish at Rugged.  Thats just radio to car, no in car talk??  What would one need to get started, so of us are young enuff to not know what cb radio is,  ;D rofl ;D.  I assume the intercom setup + a 50w radio would get you in car talk plus car to car?

The 50W radio and in car intercom is what you'd want. The 5W radios are ,IMO,toys at best,BTDT. 2-3 miles is pretty much limited to open line of sight not one side of a big dune to the other.
