OK its been a while, sorry for being slack!
I have been able to squeeze in a little time in my hectic schedule as of late to get a few things done!

This is a shot of the window nets, mirrors and wing completed!

The rubber under foot is all ready to go!! I am using Maxxis Trepadors on the rear.

Thanks to the boys at Edge they have hooked me up with a set of Wilwood front brakes with massive front rotors! This is an option I would definitely recommend!!

This is the air box I cut out of the chassis of the ZX14 frame! It wasn't that hard just a bit of flap sanding involved!

This is the shocks I am using, they are Sway a Way 12" Piggy back shocks. They are being assembled for me at the moment and should have them in the next week or so! You can order these shocks any colour you want!

OK that's it for now!

Cheers,
Foggy

OK here is some new shots, I got the chassis all prepped ready to go!

It was now time for the long awaited bolt together first was the pedals I made up.

Then last night Devo, DeRat and Beaker came around and we got stuck into it and before we knew it it was on all fours!

This some good shots of the new Wilwood brake package available from Edge.

Cheers,
Foggy

I love the new profile the cuda has with the added lengths.

I wonder how the window netting would work for a standard cuda. I was wanting to do mine like that.

Engine all bolted in, just have to do the wiring now!! :?

This is a shot of the push/pull cable connected to the throttle pedal I made.

OK you are now officially up to date!!! :D I will try and put some more up in the next few days!

Cheers,

Hey Chris,

Yes mate it does fit but you have to mount it on the out side of the chassis because it is just a little long!
Biggans did a similar mount using these nets and his cabin is about standard length!

Not a real good shot but you might see what I mean!!

Cheers,

Hey Foggy beautiful work.
I do have a design question on the Barracuda's steering though.
I've noticed on Barracuda's that the upper and lower 3/4 heims are not splayed back equally in relation to the chassis centerline.
The lower arm's 3/4 heim is perpendicular to the chassis centerline and the upper's heim is angled rearward.
The difference between these angles (approx. 10 degrees) is steering angle that is lost.  The High Missalignment Spacers only provide around 62 degrees of angle before they foul.
Is the Barracuda's steering limited to around 52 degrees total?
Does the rack bottom before the heims foul on the HMS?

The turning circle is very limited but then again it's meant to be driven on the dirt side ways..
VTR 1000 CUDA on the way.. What goes around comes around!!

Just 2 questions.
1) Is the Barracuda's steering limited to around 52 degrees total?
2) Does the rack bottom before the heims foul on the HMS?

To be perfectly honest with ya Rick I've only done my mock up and pay too much attention, which isn't a good thing I know but I was gonna wait till I could get it on the ground to see how it sits and then move it through it's range of movements, cause if I let the gas out of the shocks I don't know where to get it refilled.

I just spent the past couple hours investigating this and here is what I find.
The Barracuda's upper arm 3/4 heim will foul on it's HMS when the outside wheel turns approx. 22 degrees.  At this point the inside wheel is approx 25 degrees with at least 6 degrees clearance to it's HMS.  On a plans built Cuda the upper 3/4 heim will foul on its HMS well before the rack reaches full lock.

I'm not trying to pick the Barracuda apart.
It's just that I've been asked to look into an alternative for The Edge rack.
What I'd really like is to have someone verify my findings.
I'm looking at making a rack with 1 1/2 turns lock to lock for around half the price of the spec'd. rack.  The rack would limit the travel.  Not the HMS.

BTW that wing really finishes off the ass end. Looks VERY good on there.

Rick, Doug Heim can help you with turned fittings to weld into the end of the upper a-arm to bring the heim back perpendicular to the chassis' longitudinal centreline, and he's got some custom billet racks too...

From what I've been told the Edge racks are too quick on the ratio.
Not sure what Doug's ratio is. But $400 is a bit much and 3/8 turn from center to lock is too fast.

If you bring the upper heim perpendicular the HMS is still going to foul before the Edge rack reaches full lock.  Actually they both need to be angled back around 2 1/2 degrees to center the full travel.
Even if you optimise everything the heims will foul.

The rack needs a stop.

Or better yet, it needs to be redesigned with the right travel and a slower ratio.
