Becks rail video was cool. I found myself going ohhhhhh shit at 2:50.  rofl

And I was thinking that lake looked great in the other vid also...... but, you can add me to the Teddy Bear list. No Polar Bear here. That is a big place. Endless fun. I think we will make it in 2016.
We're pretty much all teddy bears....................

Will be good to get you there 2016! There's a group of about 12 crazy ass quad riders from here that I'm thinking might make our 2016 gathering as well.

They have a beach and swim area in town on the snake river.  Current water temps in the up 60-low 70.  No sense of adventure?? ??

Suppose to push 100 in St A over the weekend, still in 50's at night.  Some serious temp change!

Guess I need to find another oil cooler, new one didnt make 2 days before leak.  Dont know if pressure, ruffness, or what.  BUt I'm changing brands.

Ya gotta love higher altitudes!!!! That temp drop makes 100's much more tolerable unlike yours and ours  normal 100 daytime 85 nites. Very low humidity is a nice bonus as well. What brand oil cooler did you have?

Spot 25 .Arrive Aug 23,last nite Aug 28. Possibly leave a day early to go to Killpecker on way home.

Spots 1-24 are 30 amp full hookup, smaller sites. Spots 25-56 are 50 amp , water -no sewer.Bigger by far spots.

Link to camp map and IDRV reservations.

They do not allow spot sharing now.1 spot/1 rig. You can ask them but SFAIK they have ,this year, adopted that policy.

We stopped at the dunes yesterday for an hr or so and it was hot. Todd said it was unseasonably hot tho. We hung out at the Sand Hills Resort. It's the one him and his wife run. Kind of weird that the camping spots are privately owned and the Resort rents them out for the owners and keep 10%.

Sand Hills Resort is a much nicer camp than Idaho Dunes Resort but a LOT further from the big dunes. Several miles further.  I'm going to make every effort to see/meet Todd when there this time.

They started this a couple of years after we had gone up there.  We always rented the number 24,or25 spot and they sent us a letter stating that we could not rent them anymore we had to buy them. 300K Yep thats like over a quarter of a mill for a 20x70 foot slice of land in the sand.  They claimed they could keep them rented out and we would have a return on our investment in just a short time.  Like ya I believe that.

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

Got me thinking,being very generous,say a spot consistently rented 200 days a year (  rofl ) for $100 a nite. That's $20,000 yearly gross (sorry,that pun couldn't be avoided)income. $300K /$20K = 15 year payback not counting taxes and upkeep/maintenance.      Sarcasm MOFO! I want in on that investment!!!!!!!!  Sarcasm

$300k? When I was there a guy came into the store that Todd knew and told him that he just bought the spot next to his other spot and paid about $20k. His next plan is to put a concrete pad down, sod, and a fire ring. The camp ground does the maintenance like cutting grass and keeping it watered as part of your $220.00 annual fee you pay. They also cover the reservation and money collection keeping 10%.

Still not a good investment in my mind unless you either lived in the area or visited the dunes often.

$20k or $300k really doesn't matter since those sites aren't rented 7 days a week for the duration of the duning season up there.  maybe 4 days a week but still not something i would do, unless like was said if you lived close enough that was your destination a lot but at the same time if that were the case you would prob camp in the blm. if it were $20k, wouldn't be unreasonable imo, i guess, but that is prob what a 10 acre tract cost them lol   you would have to go quite a few times a year to be worth it though
