If I run a 12 tooth front with my 65 tooth rear, I need 80 links to be within the range of adjustment of my tensioner, if I go with a 14 tooth front, I'll need 82 links.

Clean all the sticky white stuff off using mineral spirits.
Then wipe it all down with a towel.

I just wiped it squeaky clean with one of my wife's dish towels!  :o
We'll see how long it takes her to notice it's gone.  ;D
BTW, thanks for the hook up on the 12 tooth sprocket Yoshi! mm: mm: mm:

what kind of tensioner are you using? if it has a sprocket why not get a smaller or larger idler sprocket or roller? do you have a pic by chance, just wondering. I know you already bought a sprocket from yoshi but just for everyones info sprocket specialists do have them down to 11 teeth.

I can't go any larger diameter on the tensioner wheel, it is already a little close to the rear sprocket and the engine case.

Ugh....  No wonder it doesn't work.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to fix it.

If the slot was perpendicular to the chain it would have more affect, but there isn't much room there.  :( :( :(

Unfortunately the adjuster us running at a very slight angle to the chain.  Closer to parallel than perpendicular.  I hope the new sprocket solves the problem. :)

I wonder if air filter cleaner will clean off the chain good. It gets the oil and grease outta my filter when I use it, and has never hurt the rubber or the glue.  I might have to try it and see how it does....
