read an interesting article that i am linking to this thread. so after reading this what are some of everyone's thoughts? we have been using the bfgrelay channel but not i am not sure if that's legal lol i would never have thought that any of the pre programmed channels on the ruggeds or any supplier of " offroad race radio's" wouldn't be legal.  i also like the info on the un-rebranded options  ;D

Old news. No one,SFAIK,has been sent to the pokey. Most of the off road channels are not "legal" for us.  :nw :m

never knew it was a problem. didn't even know you would need a license for most of those channels. oh well i guess. i wonder what channels are legal for us?

rugged provides info on the need for licensing. It comes with the radios they sell. I think they even now provide info on legal channels. At any rate the info is just a google away.

Only gmrs freqs  are no license legal @50 watts......I think.

The only place it would even remotely be an issue to the FCC would be if one of the owners of the freqs was to complain. I'm not going to any of the big off road races with my radios so it isn't an issue. It's  :nw from a practical standpoint.
