You do not need to buy fittings. You can use your Bender to make all of your offsets. Way cleaner and no weld joints

I learned the hard way buying a few different grades. Finally found out what some of the local builders were using. Amazing that the same thickness just a different grade will do. I sand filled the other grades and they would still always deform around 30 degrees and kink bad around 60 degrees.  I just did a 100 degree bend with a 4.5" radius die with no deforming or kinks with the .085 6061.
I like the aluminium cause it does not need to be coated if you do not want. I scotch brite mine for the raw look and my dad wanted his polished. I also like that the tubes dissipate heat better too. Kind of like an extra heat exchanger. I dont know how much of a difference it really makes but it cant hurt having 6 feet of aluminium lines out in the open air.

it does work well, i have bent several cars up this way. on dunebounds he picked up some polished so i coated it in gear lube for the bender and it took minimal to polish the bend and rest back up. not to a mirror finish just a clean look. if he wanted mirror again that was on him  ;D ;D

Lots of the polished stuff is not something that can easily touched up. Some kind of coating, not really polished. If it were me,I'd start out with raw 6061 tube and polish it if I wanted polished. 6061 polishes up on a buffing wheel really fast. After polishing, buff in a bit of wax.

We spent a few minutes with a terry towel and polish on my dads lines. We liked they matched the shine of the ceramic coated headers and left them there.
