Mount rear spool
« on: December 06, 2008, 01:36:17 PM »
How is everyone mounting the rear spool.  Solid mount, adjustable pictures would be good.
My last two atemps have broken loose and looking for other/better ways?
Mine has 1" of slide adj thru slots.  Had it bolted in the front w/ 9/16 grade 8 torqued to 150lbs and tack welded in the rear.  Ripped the welds loose and the bolt slid to loosen and throw the chain.  Had 15 min of bad ass riden, but I need more.  Gonna need a larger rear sprocket, 3rd gear about 50 mph not enough low end.
You can keep your CHANGE, I'd like to keep my DOLLAR.

ive been thinking of a way to incorporate something like what the bikes have on the rear axle. with the adjusters that wont alow it to slide around. start thinking in that direction and maybe you'll come up with something......

I'm hoping your slots for adjustment are on the bottom of your spool? If they are on the top, the 'pull' of the engine will drag the adjustment out of the chain...ask me how I know THAT!!!

How do you know that?
