Coolmate coolant?
« on: September 13, 2011, 01:30:14 PM »
I just scored a coolmate 4 to pair up with my dynasty and I'm wondering what you guys with water cooled tigs use for coolant.  I like the idea of the the miller/weldcraft approved coolant, I just don't like the idea of $30 a gallon when the cooler has a 4-gallon capacity......

Will the miller coolant mix with distilled water?

Any alternatives?

Thanks for the input guys!

I can't help you about the cool mate.  But I have run well water Thur a house type water filter for many many years with both my Miller Gold star and Lincon square wave tig.  never a problem.

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

Straight water is all you need. Run it for............................................................well, forever with no issues ever. I never have below freezing temps in the shop.

DId that for years but got tired of having to make sure drain hose was actually IN the drain.  eyes Ab out 5 years ago went to cooler. Should have done so a long time earlier.
