oh... just had another thought... removing an air box makes the engine "sound" like its going harder... another function of the airbox is to reduce induction noise.... so dont get "sounds like" confused with "is" going harder

I agree totally with the bike motors airbox being pretty well optimized  for performance within the parameters of how it will fit in the frame .It would be pretty hard to make much if any improvement over their design tho.  Many are ugly but very effective at making additional HP.
