yea. each gear has a different resistance. by giving the ecu the 5th or 6th gear resistance ( which is what all your purchased tre's do) you effectively trick the ecu into thinking the bike is in 5th or 6th gear thus eliminating any retarded timing. but in doing so, it lowers your idle rpms. can be diffcult to star when engine is cold, or really hot.  so im doing mine with a switch. switch off, ecu reads the GPS (gear positioning sensor)..switch on, and ecu is reading 6th gear resistance.. easy as pie massa

I understand how and why they work but I was/am not aware of any changes to idle or starting problems. Where did you get that info?

Are you doing it with a switch that you yourself control with your finger or a switch on the throttle cable? Say like on the throttle bodies near the cable connection lever? (If you have a place to mount a switch there?)

So when off the gas it would be "normaL" and start easy but on the gas it would switch over to the better timing curve for your buggy.

Then it would be automatic. Or would that cause issues switching each time you gassed it?

the norm, is to just use a toggle that you control. when i say cold engine..  i mean like on a 50degree day.

Only timing change that I'm aware of is at full advance. So far as  I know there's no change(at least on the gsxr1300) to the timing curve. Is there?

tre- timing retard eliminator, which means the timing must be retarded in those gears, and the eliminator advances the timing..  changing the timing curve....

all i wanna know.. is will i see a noticable performance gain in 1st to 3rd gear? will i notice any rough idling? hard starting? is it worth the 10$ i spent today?
