My prowler is in need of a windshield, I have to get it custom cut, It is 52" wide, and 30" tall, Any recommendations to its thickness? I planned to use Lexan for it...
-
1/4" and get mar resistant hard coat on both sides. If it needs tight radius bending tho you won't want MR.
-
It is flat, any sources for the sheet with the hard coat?
-
You should find several sources in any big city.i use Plastic Supply in Tulsa,Ok. They will also waterjet it for you.Makes for a really nice job. They do a lot of aircraft stuff. Talk to Abraham if you happen to call them.
-
Yes flat and commercial optical quality.
-
I sent them an email, I doubt I will like the price tho, as the shit looks expensive in flat square sheet form...
-
I am interested to here the price..
-
Polycarbonate/Lexan is not cheap.
-
315.00 from tulsa plus shipping...
-
compare that to a car windshield. Bunch of money but not really out of line. Was that just a sheet or include waterjetting?
-
I got a quote from a bloke in Indiana at 210.00 for mar resistant both sides... ;D Now I just need to find me some Money...
-
Did the quote from Tulsa include waterjetting?
-
Well I think so, Not sure...
-
What about the Indiana one?
-
It is hand cut, It is square with radius edges...
-
Have you tryed some of the local glass companies. Specially the ones in bad parts of Alt, the sell more bullet proof stuff.

A couple auto glass places down in san diego sell a custom cut saftey glass windshield and gasket installed in your frame for about $250 and its 150 for replacemet glass if your gasket is still good
