rear brake
« on: November 04, 2008, 02:22:23 AM »
i thought i posted this earlier, but must have forgotten to push submit.

ok so my rear brake caliper is a floating caliper fron the front of an 80's honda street bike. dual piston.  one mouting point is through a sleeve which the caliper can slide back and forth on, takes a 5/16th bolt.  :-\ the other mounting point has a rod that threads in and sticks way out, that im assuming goes through some type of tube for stability.  i got it mounted on my buggy, but im wondering if this was the worst type of caliper i could have bought. am i gonna have problems with this type? will the 5/16th bolt stand the test?

(shoot, wrong section, meant for the msp area)

Between the pin and the bolt you'll be fine.Unless crud gets into the pin or bolt bores and causes it to not float.
