What dates you thinking of? If I have the toter engine/trans transplant done I need to do a shakedown trip. Transplant starts right after this LS trip. A late summer trip would fill the bill.

Ok I will speck out about a Killpecker trip.  Count me out. Been there done that.  Endless dirt roads getting there, finding a camping spot that is level enough to park and unload is a pain in the butt.  Cold and windy, rocky have I said Endless dirt roads getting there.  If you don't have a bunch of rattles in your tow vehicles you will have.  Don't even try it when it has rained.  You can not get the mud stains out of a white trailer.   And have I said anything about the endless dirt roads getting there?

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

I Have a brother that lives just up the road from Killpecker. In Big Piney WY. He will not go there. for the same reason Fastcorvairs said. your tow rig and trailer will never be the same.

Some folks are just wussies.................... :) :) :m Regardless,I'm going to do it in the near future. The wide open rolling dunes intrigue me a lot more than just running up and down tall dunes. Hill climbing holds little attraction for me.We have some of the gnarliest dirt hills to climb anywhere within a mile of my house. Then we have Disney ,Oklahoma about an hour and a half away.Burned out on that many years ago.  I guess I understand all the flat landers attraction to the hills though.

Sounds like wide open fun!  Always wondered about room to camp just of paved and buggy up dirt rd. But I’ve read the roads are better more maintained last couple yrs. we have about 1% chance this yr, so can’t wait to hear about it.

i know i can't go this year. i know two that have been in the last 3 years and they said they white rocked the road back to the entrance. all primitive still though but a lot of trucks run that road so i guess it gets pretty rutted out. still would like to see it. i know the guys that live by there just go to LS utah and idaho before they go there lol still want to see it.

We're on the same page for sure!!   I can't make any plans till toter is done after this LS trip but looking at the historic weather for KP it appears that anytime up till Sept would be nice weather and likely dry. I don't think any reservations are needed at KP. rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl rofl I mean it's always soooooo crowded. bs1 ;D

Sort of like living in NYC and never going to the Statue of Liberty or St.Louis and not taking in the arch or living in Ariz and never seeing the Grand Canyon type of thing?

I could go for a LS ,Utah only trip  though.

This, for me 1/2 the distance to St Anthony and I could hit Coral Pink on the way up.
