Maybe before that if I don't find a reason it won't/doesn't work as represented but I can find almost no one with a negative on it.

Gonna give the guy a call as soon as I can get time. Only thing that concerns me is the aluminum plates and steel balls with the constant hammering of whoops and such might possibly cause issues with the smooth engagement/disengagement.

I was eyeing one from I think Hayes for mine.  Could be wrong brand.  Only complaint was downshifting at high rpm under load.

In other news, either Fabr is gettin old or the Redline guys are wearing off on him.  No shifting!!!   LMAO LMAO

It's not any of the above. Shifting is as always. The only diff is that it will automatically disengage at 1500ish rpm. Carl, you do not want something like the hayes clutch for our purposes no matter what yoshi is doing on his supercharger projects.................  If you are under load why would you be downshifting in the first place. FWIW,I rarely use my clutch except for starting out. Learn how to shift w/o a clutch and it's a no brainer. With this ,my little car will have exact same driving technique as the new car with a sequential trans and torque converter. No reason for shifting to be any issue at all. Guys having trouble just haven't mastered it.

I stumbled onto it on one kawi site.  If the drag race guys can make it last at the strip, then it  usually works in a rail.  They claimed quicker starts.  BTW I like the idea a lot, and the price is right.  I need to do some more reading.

Exactly. Drag strip usage. No car or truck of any kind uses that type of clutch for a reason except on the strip. Comparing apples to oranges.

The hays is a slipper or multistage lockup. The function is more or less like a fluid coupling . It will slip, keeping the engine hopefully at peak torque as long as possible  and build a lot of heat doing so till full lockup.Fantastic on the dragstrip. Crap for us,IMO. I do not know of anyone using a slipper or multistage lockup clutch on any endurance application. The heat buildup cannot be controlled and the plates burn up. It is a bit different when the clutch runs in oil but that heat is still present from slippage till full lockup and going straight into your engine oil. Not good. The things can be set up to fully lock at low rpms for sure but that just makes it into an auto clutch in effect and removes any benefit the slipper clutch would have given that the AC doesn't have.
The auto clutch will give some of the same benefits of a slipper or MSC in regards to higher rpm holding power. Both can and will increase clamping pressure as rpm increases. The slipper or MSC  clamping pressure is adjustable and the AC is not. Personally I can see no way a slipper or MSC is designed to hold up to our use unless set up to act just like the auto clutch and fully lock early in the rpm range.
IF I were drag racing the thing then YES the hays would be my choice.

so just a thought and question, when on the edge of a dune and i usually shut mine off in gear so it doesn't roll away, now with this type of clutch will one have to engage an emergency brake or locking brake or does this lock when shut off?

From my reading yes it would roll away. Most seem to engage about 1500rpm (adjustable) and anything under that is like clutch in. Reading that some bike they completely do away with all parts of clutch, cables, lever handle, even have plugs to remove the arm from cover.
So for $700 u furnish basket or $1200 outright. Fabr u call h abiut them holding in a rail?
