Power steering question
« on: October 30, 2011, 11:04:55 AM »
Got to take the car out this last weekend.   I forgot how fats this thing is.  What a hoot.  Was thinking of selling, but not so much now.

Anyway - question.

Power steering was puking out the cap a little.  Then when pulling it into the garage at full lock it kicks back and flutters.   What do you suppose that is?

Air?  Take cap off, run motor, cycle through a few lock to lock?

Yes,make sure resi stays full. If it happens again after sitting for a fair amount of time find where it's sucking air into system.

I checked it right before we went out, it was full.   No leak but air?

It happens.Parked it with PS fully warmed up. Cools down ,sucks air in thru a weak seal as slight negative pressure develops  when fluid cools and loses volume,no fluid leaks but in effect vacumn leaks=air in system.

Might be sucking in air while in operation also.

Real problem is from your lack of quality time spent with her.  She realizes you have another women and this is the way of getting more attention.  To fix this, rub her with hot wax after a nice bubble bath.  Take her out for a long weekend and dont forget the other woman, she into that.
