buggy suspension layout

something to debate or talk about if you wish, this is copied from another forum where my pal bluedragon has been posting, any comments ?

Reminded me of something I saw in a magazine a long time ago. They put a pivot tube in front of the rear torsion of a vw buggy. I think it had a torsion bar in it to keep it somewhat level. The car would twist when going through rough terrain. It was long before long travel.

Found this link to something new. Not sure how well it works but it might be something to look into. http://machinedesign.com/article/inventors-corner-a-new-twist-on-a-fully-independent-vehicle-suspension-0504 I have another link to a different design on the home computer. I will post it when I get home.

Interesting but has too many negatives such as too much unsprung weight for one.

This would keep the weight off but would take some engineering to get the correct location and lengths for everything or long travel.
