Well we have all used a floor jack off the pavement at one time or another. I am sure most of us have put the blocks of wood on them to get more height. Well here is my solution in progress. I have seen many different solutions and I drew inspiration from all of them.

I am building this as much on hand material as possible. Main framing is 1 1/2 square tube with 1/4 wall. Figure that should work to lift my buggy ;D. Jack is a Harbor Freight low profile 2 ton unit. Tires are 10" ones from you guessed it, Harbor Freight. My goal is to get 29" for the max height and 13" as a low.

I still need to add legs that will clear the ground by 1/2" or less so that when the tires squat it will bottom out and be solid. The tires will not bear the weight of the load.

The saw pictured is what I made all the cuts with. I love that thing! Was worth every penny!

I have the Milwaukee cold cut saw and once you use one you will never go back to the old abrasive saw.

Only suggestion I'd have would have been to make the legs swing down so they wouldn't be in the way in soft sand/mud when moving the jack.

Looks to be plenty strong for the pic of lifting the rear end of your truck. That weighs more that any of our sand cars. Your new saw seams to be working very nice. 8) 8) 8)

I thought hard about that faber. Just got to the point of it will work for now and am moving on in projects. This one got started because I dropped a block of wood on my foot and said some choice words. This is to save my foot! And those in ear shot. Still may get the change. Thinking of duals on there and no legs??? May work for a buggy??????? May have to test this.
