Title: New here with a pair of King Sand Cars
Post by: P.hunt on August 25, 2017, 06:01:08 PM
Hey guys
Got a 06 gen 1 busy powered and a 08 gen 2 powered King Sand Car and I'm looking for info on mods and adding reverse.

I'm rebuilding the King Coilovers on the gen 2 right now as I felt the car bottomed out too easy (gen 1 does too ill do it next) so far I found the valving on the front to be wrong.
Rebound 12 shim stack
Compression 10 shim stack

Called King and they said to flip them around
12 compression
10 rebound

Will take it out in the next week or so when I'm done and see if it's better.

Valving is a bit of black magic and all cars can benefit from a lot of work in that area.

king shocks have a strange valving system to me but call them and 1 tech there will take the time to explain there valving system. now depending on which shocks you have, as in valving rates, spring's, oil level and n2o psi it's hard to dial them in really. are they remote res shocks? did king tell you max and min n2o psi for shock? need to ask if you can add oil to the shock as well. on fox you can oil in 5 cc increment which gives you steps in between re valving that can keep it from bottoming out.
