Took the grandson for a trip in the utv. Drove around, close to home, to say hi to a few people. None were home  and he fell asleep in the first 2 miles anyway.  Cloudy and rainy morning.

Boughtand assembled a tiny 125cc quad for my 5 year old grandson. He is here for the month between grand parents and his aunt ( fathers sister,) and great grandpas. Bought if off amazon and found out later i could've ordered direct.  One would save $150 direct and the Amazon seller won't return messages anyway. Its clearly a 70's Honda knockoff but $1150 shipped and only 3 hrs assembly time im not complaining. Its gutless w/o a trans, centrifugal only. Going to gear it down because he doesn't need a 35 mph top speed. Its got an ignition cut remote and a throttle lever screw to limit speed via limiting throttle. Its so gutless it needs full throttle to take imo. Ill get it sorted later but for now it's a fantastic teaching tool. Bought him a matching helmet, gloves and goggle set too. Last pic is both grandpa's for the first ride.

When the time comes,my grandson will have outgrown his honda quad 125 (I think it is 125) my son bought new. You might want to keep it in mind in a year or 2. Perfect condition and never even a scratch accident,so far.  No clutch shifting and has throttle stop/limiter also.

Thanks for the heads up, I will. The chickity China one is fine for now. The suspsension, joints etc will never take any abuse. Hoping to train his little brother on it too.  Let me know if he decides to sell it.

Did get anything done on sat but I did sun. All rear a arms are fully welded and in paint. Yes paint, no time to wait for sand blasting and powder coating.  All the innercooler and radiator mounts are fully welded and also in paint.  1 slight mod to the wheel bearing carriers and time to pull motor and trans to finish welding the frame and then paint.

My biggest hurdle has been the eyes. Have had a lot of relearning how to do things. Even mowing the yard. Issues with near vision and going to have to try a few diff powered welding helmet lenses. I think thats why I cannot focus on the weld very long. Then I loose site of where in welding and have to grind some out. Its just craziness.

He's 5 and the reason for the gutless atv. The Chinese knock offs are cheap learning atv's. In no way shape form or fashion will they handle much abuse.  The suspension components are just too poorly built imo.

Still have to pull the clutch but, the new engine stand is far superior !  Hoping to have it in paint by Sunday.
