Title: Fabr's Wiring Nightmare
Post by: fabr on November 02, 2009, 06:52:10 PM
Well just a teaser shot.  A REAL wiring diagram a person can read also! Got tired of reading a single page busa diagram. MUCH easier to follow. Believe me if you haven't done a fully functioning busa harness before you WILL want a LARGE one to follow. The component "tray" is hinged and retained with 2 dzus for easy accessibility.

You keeping the tip over/turn sigs/stop lites/taillights/hi .low beams----everything OPERATIVE ? You have my sympathy for sure!   All I've removed is the side stand switch. Didn't see much use of it. LMAO  For the high currents like lighting I run the stock harness to relays of course. I'm using  the busa handle bar controls mounted on a tube. More pics soon. Then I have the cameras/datalogger/power steering/radio-intercom/GPS...................hell I can't remember what all to wire in also. ::)I am soldering/heat shrinking every connection . I DO NOT want some simple electric gremlin biting my arse miles from camp.I learned my lessons there with the dragster car. Once I started to solder all electric connections there was no more issues electric related. Takes a bunch more time but IMO well worth it.

If I had a brain I'd sell them.LOL! try Staples or do as I did and just print it off on your printer. Thats scaled to a 4 page by 3.  12 pages trimmed and taped together.Set your resolution high before blowing it up that large tho. I used the one posted here of a modified harness. ONE TIP or WORD OF CAUTION!!!!!!  Do NOT follow it as shown. It's  Use your head. It's NOT totally correct. There are also a few wires that are not shown but just be careful and MARK EACH and EVERY ONE of the wires you cut. This cannot be stressed enough IMO.

It wasn't a busa, but when I put the bike engine in my atv I opened the wiring diagram in an image editing program.  I then proceeded to delete all the components I didn't want and the wires going to them.  I ended up with the bare neceties to make it run.  After that, I added a few lighting circuit from scratch.  Much easier that way, at least for me.

Don't know if this was the final product or not, but here is what I ended up with.  Much simpler....

Trouble is that i want it all operative and there was nothing to speak of to eliminate.. Your way was simpler by far though. Most will do it that way.
