I think that kinda depends,
I think on a 2 seater yeah unless you want to go to a frog and drag link like on sleds, But I think if you factor in the weight of the buggy and passengers that would make steering difficult due to the nature of a 3/4 turn lock to lock ratio. Where most racks are about 1 1/2 turns lock to lock.
What I'm saying is the rack steers at 1/2 the speed as the frog and drag link does, so the force applied to the spindle is doubled for the same input at the steering wheel...
Both systems can be mounted off center
I will say this the dragen frog has 8 heims and 2 bushings, That is alot of maintenance, and 10 points to get sloppy...
Tha rack has only 4 heims
I guess thats my opinion on it

I'd do the R&P myself.
"There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American,
but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one
flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is
the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a
loyalty to the American people."
Theodore Roosevelt 1907
