I dunno, With the reduction they can get with their gearbox losing first gear may not be all that big of a deal.
So, 1,050$ for the internal reverse parts and 1,300$ plus VAT for the direct drive box and you loose a gear....... Hey Faber, hows that enclosed chain set-up for a RPM/Jeffco coming? Edit: Also forgot the 90$ + VAT slave cylinder relocation bracket........ And the offset motor.
Teerue. But some (who have a lot more time with Hayabusas than I) Claim they feel they would miss out on the top end gears. If geared low enough that you only took off in second.Just saying what I have read of others who commented on it. Personally I still think in most cases the remaining gears would be faster than "most" would go off road. At least in most non desert race situations. I do need to get to the library to watch more of the videos but I would like to see one of these rear engine cars with the backwards motor run against say a similair engine powered winged sprint car with the motor in the front.Course winged sprint cars only turn one way..... (and thats not right...... Old racers joke)
Yes Hammerworks they do that BUT you loose one forward gear and many do not wish to give that up if they had a choice.
Unless you can tolerate a car that has the manners of an F1 car at takeoff, losing first gear is a huge negative. Can you say smoked clutch discs?
If your smoking the clutch discs taking off in second, I assure you that you would never use 5th or 6th.The point is that the gear reduction could be made deep enough to make 2nd the equivalent of 1st or lower and still not run out of top end in 6th.
my second takes off just fine..
