Grade of steel ??

Please help me here guys,

I'm looking at steel online and I have to select one of these for the grade of 1 - 1 1/2 square tube I'm using in my build.  Whats the grade of steel I need? Standard stuff please. Thanks,  8)

not one of them, square tube will either be 1010, or 1020...

Cant you source any locally, square tube is generally easy to find, should be cake in your area...

You want the 4130!!! thats chomolly! But expensive!

All the other #s have a higher carbon grade and are not as good for welding. Regular mild steel has the last 2 numbers as lower numbers like 1018, 1117, 1215 and so on. Stay below 30 for the last 2 numbers

Yeah bug is right. Square tube is really easy to come by and mild grades are cheap. I dont even think you can get square in 4130! Can you?

Oh and Metal supermarkets is Expensive IMO. How much you need and where you at? Ill pre cut it if you know the length's and send you some at my cost. I get material at Machine shop price. But shipping that may suck. Just so you know the offer is there. I am always glad to help out a fellow buggy enthusiast!

Meet me off 1-75 saturday afternoon and ill drop it off... ;D   For a very small fee... ;D there has to be somewere arounf ohio that has sq tube tho...
