All depends on the amount of triangulation.  1.25 is a bit small maybe for a 118" WB car. Depends on design.

Everyone in Yakima uses 1 5/8, and I think .095, for roll cages. I think anyone around there with a tube bender has that die.

1.5 is generally less expensive than 1.25 as well, due to supply and demand.... ;D

You'll recoup that 300 bux in tube cost and time. Plus it will IMO look better on a car that size.Any possibility of returning the dies and exchanging for 1.5?.

Any chance of "renting" a die from a board member who is done building for the time being?

What kind of a bender do you have? Post a pic of your die.

If I believe I cannot do something it makes me incapable of doing it. But when I believe that I can, then I acquire the ability to do it , even if I didn't have it at the beginning.

Ok heres my high tech chassis design i made on paint CAD  ::)  I am now thinking of using square tubing for the bottom frame and then tubing for the rest.

Red will be 2x2 tubing
Green will be 1x2

What does everyone think of that idea? ???

For 118" wheelbase I think you're seriously undersizing.

Looks good!  Square tubing is easier to lay a base with.  I would keep drawing and thinking about how everything is going to fit and work.  Some time now might save you a lot of work later.  Also you might get some graph paper and try to draw it to scale, or give a cad program a shot.  I find that most of my best ideas don't look nearly as good when drawn to actual scale. :P  However it helps to generate more ideas!

I have the chassis drawn out on the floor in chalk right now and it looks pretty good ill have to take some measurements and put them to the picture.

Fabr has a point.  You might also want to be wider with your square/rectangular tubing so that the 1-1/4 round will joint into it better.
