OK,I have no plans at this time to avoid our gathering due to any Covid hysteria. I do though see the need to take common sense precautions. We have ALWAYS had a group meal however I am asking if anyone has any concerns about the pot luck thing-meal. Perhaps have the whole group get together but bring your own meal? No potluck as usual?? AM I being too chicken little?? Looking for opinions.

Fabr, I think you are correct. Just skip the group supper for sure, avoid congregating in anyone’s trailer, and use some common sense. Hopefully we will be approaching the back side of this by then, but until the all clear, keep your grubby hands outta my cooler! :m

i can certainly understand posponing the group dinner until the fall trip. i am certain all will understand that as well. budlight....better lock that cooler lol i wonder if they'll cancel sand outlaws to minimize large groups?
-
Was wondering the same . SNake Hunt as well? Honestly,I'm watching/waiting for the state park campgrounds being closed at some point.
-
i know the state park closure is state by state. last night i saw florida state parks are closing and a number of private camp grounds wont let new campers in. there are a lot of full time camper people/families there. so if there snow birds then they may pack up and head home! a lot of traffic heading everywhere. it sounded like most state parks from florida to ga are closing but federal land like blm is staying open. i follow a few full time rv travel channels on youtube. they all recieved eviction notices for the parks they are currently at. as far as i can tell just snake hunt and the atv rodeo or whatever that is was canceled. sounded like waynoka couldn't get permission for snake hunt or something??

Snake hunt is off this year?
-
if thats in april then yes. if sand fest is in april and snake hunt later in the year then its sand fest. i am pretty sure the post said snake hunt though. the quad race is off as well. hell it looks like silver lake dunes opening has been posponed until may.

Snake Hunt isn't affiliated with the dunes. It is actually put on by some saddle club I believe. Anyway Okla was balking for some reason before this virus thing. They weren't being given permits for the hunt or the carnival for some reason from what I have been able to find out. I'm trying to find out the details but some pretty tight lips it seems. Bottom line is it seems the virus had little to do with it being cancelled this year.
Park is open and so are the campgrounds-at this time no plan to close them.

Sandfest is also not put on by the state. Private deal. Who knows what will come though.
Wouldn't be surprised if these are cancelled.
